This policy explains what Zapp Delivery collects when you use the Zapp Driver and Zapp Sender apps, or track a delivery through a link we sent you, and what we do with it. It covers all three.

Who we are

Zapp Delivery operates a delivery platform in Ghana connecting people sending parcels with drivers who deliver them. Zapp Delivery is the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

Account details. Your name, phone number and email address, so we can identify you, let you sign in, and put senders and drivers in contact during a delivery.

Location. Senders' pickup and drop-off locations, set by dropping a pin or entering an address. For drivers, we collect precise location continuously while you are on an active delivery so the sender and the recipient can see your progress on a map. Driver location collection stops when the delivery ends.

Photos. Parcel photos and proof-of-delivery photos attached to a delivery.

Payment information. Senders pay through Paystack, and drivers receive payouts to a bank account or mobile money number. Card and mobile money credentials are entered directly with Paystack and are never stored by us; we keep the transaction reference, status and amount, and for drivers the payout destination needed to send money.

Identity documents (drivers). Ghana Card number, a photo of the card, and a selfie, collected to verify that drivers are who they say they are before they carry other people's parcels.

Device and diagnostic data. A notification token identifying each device you sign in on, and crash and error reports.

Why we collect it

To run the service: matching deliveries to drivers, showing live tracking, processing payments and payouts, sending you notifications about your deliveries, verifying driver identity, providing support, and detecting fraud or misuse.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

What other people can see

While a delivery is active, the sender and the recipient can see the driver's live location, name and vehicle. The driver can see the pickup and drop-off addresses, the recipient's name and phone number, and any parcel photos.

Recipients receive a tracking link by SMS. Anyone holding that link can see the delivery's progress and driver location until the delivery completes, so treat it as private.

Who we share it with

We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf: Google Firebase (authentication, notifications, crash reporting, live location), Google Maps (maps and routing), Paystack (payments and payouts), Supabase and Railway (hosting and database), and our SMS provider for tracking links and codes.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public.

How long we keep it

We keep delivery records and payment records for as long as needed to run the service and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Driver identity documents are kept while the driver account is active. Location history tied to a delivery is retained with that delivery record.

When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we are required to keep it.

Your choices

Location. You can turn off location access in your device settings. Drivers cannot accept or complete deliveries without it, since the platform confirms pickups and drop-offs by location.

Notifications. You can turn notifications off in your device settings. Drivers who do will not be told when a gig is approved, cancelled or reassigned.

Access and deletion. You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account, by contacting TBC — support inbox.

Security

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access restricted to those who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

Zapp is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do we will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app.
